Stephanie Killian: Power Ballad Contest Winner!

Stephanie Killian’s winning entry!

I rock eight to three at a kindergarten gig.
You don’t know my name but I’ve already made it big.
I’m standing tall (’cause my kids are so small), not rockin’
the”Garden” but a pre-school hall.
Wanted to be Karen Carpenter, but I weighed too much; or Ann or Nancy
Wilson, but can’t sing, as such.
Now I sling my Ovation before an adoring throng, Lookin’ down at
those croc-clad kiddies as we sing our song:
Chorus:The wheels on the bus, the five little ducks, the itsy bitsy
spider, the hurrying fire truck.

My Springsteen tickets cost me half a week’s pay.
I thought I’d end up on stage with him, back in the day.
He might be the Boss, but I am too;
Ain’t got no E-Street band, just a motley crew.
I didn’t stop believin’
or hold the line,
I found my limelight and I’m doing just fine.
(Insert blazing guitar solo here)
And in the heat of the moment, all the little kiddies scream…
The wheels on the bus, the five little ducks, the itsy bitsy spider,
the hurrying fire truck.
