Power Ballad Contest
Craig Popelars from Algonquin Books is really the man responsible for having come up with this idea. And it is a fine idea for a contest.
Borne of riding around in rental vehicles together in the Midwest and Washington State, listening to the radio, as most fine ideas are. When he spoke of it in transit, I grabbed the emergency brake and yanked our rental sedan into a spin (snow). I'm going to let Craig take over here and tell you all about it.
THE WHY OF IT
Have you ever dreamed of fronting a group like Asia, Journey, Toto or Rush, but the 9 to 5 reality is that you work in a cubicle, wear pleated Dockers, and consider two Amstel Lights on a Tuesday night really pushing it? I feel your pain and I think everyone else should too. The Rock On Power Ballad Contest is your chance to live beyond the gilded cage and in the limelight, which, I believe, is the universal dream.--Craig Popelars
